Eye Care Services Offered by our Ocala Eye Doctors
What are the Main Areas of Our Ocala Eye Care Center?
We provide advanced corneal reshaping called Ortho K, which is short for orthokeratology and used to improve astigmatism, farsightedness and nearsightedness. Other ways we treat these eye conditions are through eye glasses. We have more than 2,000 frames in stock. Our optometry services include pediatric and geriatrics, as well as keratoconus and medical optometry. Any surgical procedures you may need will be referred to a specialist, and we will provide surgical co-management. We are on call for emergency eye care services in the instance you need treatment after hours.
What If I Need to Get a Contact Lens Fitting?
In addition to having some of the most fashionable eyeglasses in Silver Springs, FL, we also offer a contact lens fitting service. During this fitting we can determine which type of contact lenses, i.e. hard versus soft or replacement versus long wearing, will best suit your needs. If you have any questions about getting contact lenses please call the Ritz & Johnson Fashion Eyecare Center at (352) 732-7900. We will set you up with a contact lens fitting as soon as possible.
Do I Have Keratoconus?
Keratoconus is an eye condition where the cornea bulges out in a cone shape. It is not an inflammatory condition or necessarily due to eye infections. In fact, we don’t currently know how people get keratoconus or cornea bulging. However, at your optometrist in Anthony and The Villages in Florida we provide a treatment for keratoconus. This is typically the use of soft contact lenses or eyeglasses to correct the astigmatism and/or nearsightedness caused by the condition. The best way to treat this eye condition is to treat it early. If untreated the condition can become severe and result in scarring or thinning of the cornea. The only way to treat a thin or scarred cornea is through a tissue transplant by a healthy cornea donor.
What are the Types of Eye Infections and Diseases That the Optometrists at the Ritz & Johnson Fashion Eyecare Center Treat?
